Auburn Youth and Family Services was established in 1976, as the
Auburn Project, as a non-traditional means to meet the needs of
Auburn’s youth. The focus of the Auburn project was the prevention of
drug/alcohol abuse through education and intervention. Over the
years, the programs expanded. In 1991, the agency’s name was
changed to Auburn Youth and Family Services to reflect this growth
and expansion of services. The services of AYFS encompass the
treatment of the entire family. The strength of our programs and services is
prevention and early intervention with families.
